Overview

Why choose the E-Series Gliding Windows?

Gliding windows are the answer wherever a swinging sash would get in the way. The E-Series version is Andersen’s Architectural Collection take on the style: a wood interior in your choice of ten species, a heavy extruded aluminum exterior in fifty colors or seven anodized finishes, and 2- or 3-sash configurations up to 8′ wide. Because every unit is made to order, the window can match a historic renovation or a modern beach house down to the finish on the sash lock.

Every Andersen E-Series unit can be ordered with the glass package that fits its exposure. All options are ENERGY STAR® certified configurations; ask us about impact-rated glass for coastal wind zones.

Glass

SmartSun™ Glass
SmartSun™ GlassSmartSun™ glass gives you the benefits of Low-E glass, plus it helps shield your home from the sun’s heat by filtering out harmful UV rays. Ideal for: All Climates SmartSun™ with HeatLock Coating is also available on 100 Series windows. This prevents more heat from escaping your home but slightly reduces the visible light transmitted through the glass.
Low-E/Low-E4® Glass
Low-E/Low-E4® GlassLow-E Glass reflects heat in the summer and helps to retain interior heat in the winter. Low-E4® with HeatLock Coating is available on A-Series windows. This improves the U-Factor performance of the window but slightly reduces how much light comes through the glass.
Sun Glass
Sun GlassSun glass has excellent thermal performance. This glass has a subtle tint that blocks out more heat from the sun. Ideal for: Southern Climates
PassiveSun® Glass
PassiveSun® GlassIf you live in a cold climate, PassiveSun® glass allows the sun to heat your home. Ideal for: Northern Climates
Triple-Pane Glass
Triple-Pane GlassAn extra pane of glass helps keep more heat in and cold air out, making this our most energy-efficient glass option. Perfect for colder climates where more months of the year are spent heating the home. Ideal for: Northern Climates

TruScene®Exclusive Andersen TruScene® insect screens provide over 50% more clarity than our conventional insect screens for a beautiful unobstructed view. They allow more fresh air and sunlight in, while doing a better job of keeping out small insects. Available in painted aluminum or wood-veneered options.

Factory-applied trim completes the look and is often essential for authentic architectural style. Match your window color or choose a contrasting trim.
