Why choose the A-Series Specialty Shape Windows?

A-Series specialty windows are designed to be used alone to maximize a view or combined with A-Series casements and double-hungs into large, architecturally authentic combinations. Choose from thirty-four shapes, eleven exterior colors, six interior wood species and a full palette of stains and paints, then finish the opening with interior arch casing, plinth blocks and key blocks. Recognized as Most Efficient of ENERGY STAR® in 2018.

Full Divided Light
Full Divided LightGrilles applied to the interior and exterior of the window with aluminum spacers between the glass create an authentic look. Spacer Option for Greater Energy Efficiency The Energy Spacer option is available to help A-Series products with full divided lights and SmartSun™ glass be ENERGY STAR® certified in the Northern climate zone. Its narrow design creates a 3mm gap around the spacer, helping to lower U-Factor values.

Simulated Divided LightStyle your window with permanent exterior grilles and choose between permanent or removable interior grilles.
Removable Interior Grille

Every Andersen A-Series unit can be ordered with the glass package that fits its exposure. All options are ENERGY STAR® certified configurations; ask us about impact-rated glass for coastal wind zones.

Glass

SmartSun™ Glass
SmartSun™ GlassSmartSun™ glass gives you the benefits of Low-E glass, plus it helps shield your home from the sun’s heat by filtering out harmful UV rays. Ideal for: All Climates SmartSun™ with HeatLock Coating is also available on 100 Series windows. This prevents more heat from escaping your home but slightly reduces the visible light transmitted through the glass.
Low-E Glass
Low-E GlassLow-E Glass reflects heat in the summer and helps to retain interior heat in the winter. Low-E with HeatLock Coating is also available on 100 Series windows. This improves the U-Factor performance of the window but slightly reduces how much light comes through the glass.
Sun Glass
Sun GlassSun glass has excellent thermal performance. This glass has a subtle tint that blocks out more heat from the sun. Ideal for: Southern Climates
Clear Dual-Pane Glass
Clear Dual-Pane GlassClear dual-pane glass, which offers basic thermal performance, is in situations where codes allow its use. In North Texas, clear-dual pane glass does not meet energy code. See local code official for requirements in your area.
HeatLock® Technology
HeatLock® TechnologyHeatLock® coating reflects heat that likes to escape your home through window glass. It can be added to most of Andersen’s glass options.

Decorative and Specialty Glass

Safety GlassTempered safety glass is available on all products, and comes standard on all patio doors.

Laminated GlassLaminated glass is also available, for added strength, enhanced security and sound control.

Sound-Reducing GlassThis glass helps reduce the volume of outside noise. Available with Low-E, SmartSun and HeatLock coatings.

Patterned GlassLet in light while obscuring vision and adding a unique decorative touch to your home.

Their symmetric patterns are available in distinctive color schemes as well as colorless glass, and their caming may be finished with a gold tone, silver tone or antique patina.

Interior Trim

Interior Arch Casing
Interior Arch CasingAvailable in Colonial (2 ¼”, 2 ½” or 3 ½”) or Ranch (2 ¼” or 2 ½”) styles. Arch casings come with transition blocks or plinth blocks, depending on the product. For easy integration and consistency, casing dimensions are consistent with Wood Moulding and Millwork Producers Association specifications. Available in pine, oak and maple.
Plinth Blocks
Plinth BlocksFor enhancing casing transitions. Decorated with a radial sunburst, or use the reverse side flush face. Use 2 7/8″ plinth block with 2 ¼” and 2 ½” casing. Use 3 7/8″ plinth block with 3 ½” casing.
Key Block
Key BlockExcellent for creating unique trim designs or accents at arch casing transitions. A key block is an option for circle and oval windows.
Transition Blocks
Transition BlocksTwo transition blocks come with the interior arch casing extension jambs, providing a beautiful accent for circle and oval windows. Exterior Trim Exterior trim adds a finishing touch to your windows or doors and is often essential in achieving authentic architectural style. You can match the color of your windows or doors, or complement them with a different color.
